Meet The Smok TFV18 Sub-Ohm Tank

A tank is the glass part that sits on top of a vape mod. You pour liquid into it, screw it on, and it feeds the coil while you vape.

The Smok TFV18 sub-ohm tank is one of the bigger ones. It holds 7.5ml, which is nearly four times what a small pod holds. Fill it in the morning and most people will not need to think about it again that day.

Sub-ohm means it runs at high power and makes a lot of vapour. The draw is loose and open, like breathing in rather than sipping through a straw.

Two coils come in the box, so you can start vaping the day it arrives. You only need a mod and a bottle of liquid.

It comes in six colours. Same tank, same parts, just the finish changes. If you want something smaller, our wholesale vape tank range covers every size we hold.

Check Your Mod Can Drive It First

This is the one thing to sort out before anything else, and it is where most people go wrong.

This tank needs 80 to 140 watts. It runs best at around 100 to 110.

If your mod tops out below 80W, it will not work properly. You get a weak, wet vape with almost no flavour. Nothing breaks, it just never does what it is supposed to do.

The tank is also wide. At 32mm across it will hang over the edge of a slim mod. It still works, but it looks wrong and feels top-heavy in a pocket.

It screws onto any normal mod with a 510 fitting, which is the standard screw thread almost every mod uses.

The Smok Mag 18 kit is the matching mod. It came out at the same time, goes up to 230W and is wide enough to take the tank properly. If you want something else, wholesale vape mods lists everything we hold.

What Comes With The Smok TFV18 Tank

More than you might expect for the price. Two coils and a spare glass are both included.

Tank	1 x TFV18
Holds	7.5ml with the round glass, 6.5ml with the straight one
Coils	1 x 0.33 ohm single mesh, already fitted 1 x 0.15 ohm dual mesh, spare
Spares	Second glass tube, drip tip, seals, manual
Width	32mm
Fitting	510 screw thread
Made from	Stainless steel and Pyrex glass
Filling	From the top. Press and slide the cap
Airflow	Adjustable, three slots at the base
Colours	Six

The two glass tubes are worth knowing about. The round one bulges outward and holds more. The straight one is slimmer and holds 6.5ml. Both are in the box, so you can swap depending on whether you want capacity or a neater shape.

WHICH OF THE TWO COILS SHOULD YOU START ON?

0.33 ohm single mesh
Already fitted. Start here.

Warms up a little slower.
Uses less liquid.
Lasts longer before it wears out.
Gentler on the throat.

Best if you are new to tanks, or you want the coil to last.

0.15 ohm dual mesh
Spare in the box. The step up.

Warms up faster.
Makes noticeably more vapour.
Wears out sooner.
Hits harder.

Best if the first one feels weak after a few tanks.

Both run at 80 to 140W. The dual mesh also takes up a bit more room inside, so you fit slightly less liquid with it in.

Which Coils Fit The TFV18 Sub-Ohm Tank

Read this bit twice. It is the most common ordering mistake on the whole Smok TFV range, and it costs people money every week.

This tank takes Smok TFV18 replacement coils. It also takes the older TFV16 mesh coils, which is handy if you are moving up from that tank.

It does not take TFV18 Mini coils.

The names are one word apart. The coils look almost the same in the packet. But they are a different size and will not sit properly, so the tank leaks and the coil never wicks right.

We sell the Smok TFV18 Mini tank as its own product with its own coils. If the word Mini is on your box, that is the page you want.

So before you order coils, look at the tank and check whether Mini is written on it. That one word is the difference between a coil that works and one that floods your mod.

This matters even more on a bulk order. Buy fifty of the wrong coil and you have fifty coils nobody can use.

Filling The TFV18 For The First Time

Press the button on the top cap and slide it across. A hole appears underneath.
Pour liquid in through the hole, up to just below the top of the glass. Keep it away from the tube running up the middle.
Slide the cap shut.
Stand the tank upright and leave it ten minutes.
Take four or five pulls without pressing the fire button.
Start at the low end of the watt range and work up over the first tankful.

Ten minutes sounds like a lot. It is not.

Inside the coil is a thick piece of cotton. It has to soak up liquid before you heat it. These are big coils, so they hold a lot of cotton and take longer to fill than a small one does.

Fire a dry coil at 100 watts and it is finished in one pull. Not weakened. Finished. You will taste burnt cotton for the rest of that coil.

Coils this size cost real money, so ten minutes is cheap insurance.

Only High-VG Liquid Goes In

Liquid comes in two rough thicknesses, and the Smok TFV18 sub-ohm tank only takes one of them.

Thick liquid is 70/30 or higher VG. It moves slowly and makes big clouds. This is what the TFV18 is built for.

Thin liquid is 50/50. It flows fast, which is fine in a small tight coil but a disaster here. The holes in these coils are wide, so thin liquid runs straight through them and floods the tank.

So use a 70/30 shortfill e-liquid and nothing thinner.

Nicotine matters just as much. At 100 watts you take in a huge amount of vapour with every pull, so the nicotine adds up fast.

Stick to 3mg or lower. A 20mg nic salt in a tank like this would be genuinely horrible and could make you feel unwell. Nic salts belong in small pods, not here.

Be ready for how fast it empties, too. At 100 watts a 7.5ml tank goes in well under a day. That is the trade for not refilling every couple of hours.

A 7.5ml Tank Is Legal, A 7.5ml Pod Is Not

People ask this a lot, and the answer surprises them.

You have probably seen that UK law limits vape pods to 2ml. So how is a 7.5ml tank allowed?

Because the limit applies to containers sold with nicotine liquid already inside them. A prefilled pod arrives full, so it is capped at 2ml. This tank arrives empty. You fill it yourself from a bottle, so the cap does not apply. [documented — gov.uk, Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016]

That is the whole reason big tanks still exist in the UK while big prefilled pods do not.

The same logic keeps it clear of the disposable vape ban. That ban covers sealed devices you cannot recharge or refill. A refillable tank on a rechargeable mod is the opposite of that in every way. [documented — gov.uk single-use vapes ban guidance]

What The October Tax Means Here

From 1 October 2026 there is a new tax on vape liquid. It is £2.20 for every 10ml.

Hardware is not taxed, so the tank itself carries none of it. [documented — gov.uk, Vaping Products Duty guidance]

But the liquid is, and this tank drinks liquid. That is the part worth thinking about.

Someone on a small pod might use 2ml a day. Someone on a TFV18 at 100 watts can use 8ml. Same tax rate, four times the bill.

Nothing is wrong with that. It is just worth knowing before you switch, because sub-ohm vaping gets proportionally more expensive under a tax charged by volume. Our guide to the vape tax by format works through the numbers.

Coming from pods and not sure this is for you? Pods against refillable tanks sets out what each one asks of you.

Stocking The Smok TFV18 Tank Wholesale

Tanks are one of the easier things to hold stock of. There is no liquid inside to turn and no battery to go flat, so a boxed tank keeps as long as you need it to.

The six colours sell unevenly. Stainless steel and matte black move fastest, because they suit any mod. Gold, red, blue and the rainbow finish sell more slowly and to people buying something specific. So a Smok TFV18 tank wholesale order usually weights heavily towards the first two.

Colours mix freely on a bulk order, so you are not stuck taking equal numbers of each.

One thing that helps sales. Every tank comes with two coils already in the box. A customer can buy it and vape the same day. That removes the most common reason a tank sits unsold, which is someone realising at the till that they need coils too.

It is still worth stocking spare coils alongside. A buyer who gets two weeks out of the included pair will be back, and if you do not have them they will buy elsewhere.

Because nothing inside goes off, buying Smok TFV18 tanks wholesale and holding them is low risk. A tank that sits in the stockroom for a year is the same tank a year later.

TFV18 Sub-Ohm Tank Bulk Questions

What is the Smok TFV18 sub-ohm tank?

A 7.5ml refillable tank that screws onto a 510 mod. It runs at high power, makes a lot of vapour, and comes with two mesh coils already in the box.

What wattage does the Smok TFV18 tank need?

80 to 140 watts, best around 100 to 110. A mod that stops below 80W cannot run it properly.

Does the tank come with coils?

Yes. A 0.33 ohm single mesh already fitted and a 0.15 ohm dual mesh spare, plus a second glass tube and a drip tip.

Will TFV18 Mini coils fit this tank?

No. They are a different size despite the similar name. This tank takes TFV18 coils, and TFV16 mesh coils also fit.

Is it 6.5ml or 7.5ml?

Both. The round glass gives 7.5ml and the straight spare gives 6.5ml. Swap whenever you like.

Can I order a TFV18 sub-ohm tank in bulk?

Yes. Colours mix freely on a bulk order, and most buyers weight it towards stainless steel and matte black.

How many should I take on a wholesale order?

Weight it towards the two plain finishes and add spare coils. A Smok TFV18 tank wholesale order without coils alongside tends to bring customers back to someone else.

Which mod should I put it on?

Any regulated 510 mod rated to 100W or more. It is 32mm wide, so a wider mod suits it. The Smok Mag 18 is the matching kit.

Can I use nic salts in the Smok TFV18 sub-ohm tank?

No. At 100 watts a 20mg nic salt would be far too harsh. Use a high-VG shortfill at 3mg or lower.

Why is my tank leaking?

Usually a coil that is not screwed in fully, or liquid that is too thin. These coils need 70VG or higher.

How long does a coil last?

A week or two at this power. Sweet dessert flavours shorten it a lot, because the sweetener burns onto the mesh.

Do Smok TFV18 tanks keep well in storage?

Yes. No liquid and no battery inside, so a boxed tank keeps indefinitely. That makes them easy to buy ahead in bulk.
