That is unusual. Most brands change the coil shape with every new pod, so people with older kits get stuck. Geekvape did not do that here.
One thing to check first. A few shops say the 0.6 and 0.8 ohm ones do not fit the G18 Pen. If you own a G18 Pen and want a lower number, read the packet rather than guessing.
Five Resistances In A G Series Coils Box Of 5
Every box holds five coils, and all five are the same resistance. You pick which one when you order.
Resistance is the number printed on the side of the coil. You only need it for two things. How tight the draw feels, and how much vapour you get.
A high number gives a tight draw and less vapour. A low number gives a loose draw and more vapour. That is the whole idea.

Just switched from disposable bars?
Take 1.8 ohm with a 20mg nic salt. It is the tightest of the five and feels closest to a cigarette. Most people who have just stopped smoking end up here.
Been vaping a while and want a bit more?
Take 1.2 or 1.0 ohm. Still tight, a little more vapour, and both are happy with nic salts.
Want clouds and a loose draw?
Take 0.8 or 0.6 ohm with a shortfill at 3mg. Just know these use liquid two or three times faster.
Replacing one that worked?
Read the number off the old coil and order the same again. Do not go from memory. A 1.0 and a 1.2 look almost the same once they are in a pod.
Fitting A Geekvape Refill Coil
This takes two minutes and there is nothing to unscrew. Geekvape refill coils push straight in and pull straight out.
- Tip any liquid left in the pod down the sink first.
- Pull the old coil out. Give it a firm tug and it comes away.
- Push the new coil in until it stops. If it is only half in, the pod will leak.
- Fill the pod, then stand it upright and leave it five to ten minutes.
- Take three or four gentle pulls without pressing anything. Then vape at the lowest watts in the range for the first tank.
Step four matters most, and it is the one everyone skips.
Inside every coil is a piece of cotton. It needs to soak up liquid before you heat it. Heat dry cotton and it burns, and a coil burnt on day one never gets better. You taste it until the day you throw it out.
Want to speed it up? Drip a few drops of liquid onto the cotton you can see through the side holes before you fit it. Not essential, but it halves the wait.
No pod left to fit it into? Empty refillable vape pods are sold separately from the coils.
What Kills Geekvape Coils In Bulk
A coil lasts one to three weeks. That is a big gap, and it is not down to how much you vape. It is down to what you put in it.
Sweet, dark liquids kill coils. Desserts, custards, anything thick with sweetener. The sugar burns onto the metal and leaves a black layer. After that, everything tastes of it.
The same coil might give you three weeks on a light menthol and five days on a custard. Nothing is wrong with the coil. It is the bottle.
So if yours are dying fast, look at what you are filling them with before you blame the hardware.
The other thing that kills them is power. These are low-watt coils. Push a 1.8 ohm past 9W and you will cook it inside two tanks.

What To Put In The Pod
Liquid comes in two rough thicknesses, and the coil decides which one you need. Get this wrong and a perfectly good coil will taste burnt.
Thin liquid is 50/50, meaning half VG and half PG. It flows easily, so a small tight coil can pull it through fast enough. Nic salts are nearly all 50/50.
Thick liquid is 70/30 or more VG. It makes bigger clouds but moves slowly, so it needs a bigger coil with wider holes.
- 1.8, 1.2 and 1.0 ohm want 10ml nic salt e-liquid or 50/50 blends.
- 0.8 and 0.6 ohm handle 50ml and 100ml shortfill e-liquid at lower nicotine.
The mistake we see most is a thick 70VG shortfill in a 1.8 ohm coil. The cotton cannot keep up, so you get dry hits on a coil that is fine. Swapping the coil will not fix it. Changing the bottle will.
The other way round just wastes liquid. A thin nic salt in a 0.6 ohm coil at 18W tastes harsh and empties in a day.

G is for pods. That is this one, and it is the only family built for small tight-draw pod kits.

Coils Carry No Vape Duty
A coil is hardware, not liquid. The 2ml and 10ml limits that apply to pods and bottles do not touch it. Neither does the new tax that starts on 1 October 2026.
