Box Mods For Shops: Watts, Tanks And Who Buys One
Start Here On Box Mods And Who Buys Them
A box mod is the battery half of a vape. It is a small box with a screen, a fire button and a screw thread on top. You pick a tank, screw it on, set the power and vape it.
Nothing about it is sealed or thrown away. The tank refills, the coil swaps out, and the box lasts years.
The buyers fall into three groups. Somebody coming off bars who is tired of paying for a new device every week. Somebody who already refills and wants more power than a pod kit gives. And the hobbyist who wants settings to play with. The first two are most of the money. Our full Vape Mods range sits on one page, so open it in a second tab as you go.
From Ten Watts To 218
Power is the first number on the box and the one shops get wrong. Here is our own ladder, lowest first.
Now the rule nobody prints. A tight cigarette-style tank wants somewhere around 5 to 40 watts. A big airy tank needs 50 watts at least, and a few will take 200. So the number you need is set by the tank, not by what looks impressive on the shelf.
Read that ladder again and most of your shelf should be the first three rungs. The Eleaf iStick 30W at £14.99 covers the biggest group of buyers you have, and the 217 watt one covers the smallest.
Some Say Box Mod And Some Say Kit
Our own titles use two words and they mean different things. This catches people out on every order.
The box on its own. No tank in the carton. Eleaf iStick 30W, Innokin Kroma 217, GeekVape Aegis Solo, GeekVape Max 100, Voopoo Drag M100S.
The box and a tank together, ready to fill. GeekVape T200, GeekVape Aegis Legend, Smok G-Priv 4.
This is the commonest mix-up in box mod wholesale orders. If a shop asks for a box mod and gets a bare box, the customer cannot vape it. They need a tank as well, and a coil in the tank. A kit solves that in one line on the invoice.
The word in the title is the only clue we give you, so read it. The GeekVape T200 Kit at £46.00 arrives complete. A bare mod at £14.99 does not, and the gap between those two prices is mostly the tank.
Pod Mods Are Mixed In
A couple of items in our mod list are not really box mods at all. The Freemax Autopod 50 and the Voopoo Vinci 2 are pod mods.
A pod mod takes a refillable pod that clips in. No tank to screw on, no coil to fit, lower power, and a much shorter conversation at the counter. It is the step between a pod kit and a proper box mod.
They are useful and we sell them. The problem is that they sit in the same list as a 200 watt box, so a shop scrolling our mods sees two completely different customers in one page and cannot tell which is which until it opens each one. None of the big UK guides mentions this split, so nobody is warned.
They are also a cheaper first sale. A pod mod lands a customer who is not ready to choose a tank, and they often come back for a proper box later. Treat them as the rung below, not as competition.
Every Mod Here Has A Safety Chip
There are two sorts of box mod in the world. One has a chip inside and one does not.
A chip reads the coil, holds the power steady and cuts out if something is wrong. A short circuit, a cell getting hot, a coil fitted badly. The chip is what makes a mod ordinary rather than a thing that needs study.
The other sort has no chip at all. It sends whatever the battery has straight to the coil. The user has to work out the safe limits themselves, and getting it wrong is dangerous rather than annoying.
Every mod on our shelf has the chip. We hold none of the other sort. So a shop buying from us does not have to teach a customer any of that, and the GeekVape Aegis Solo is a plain example of it.
Three Questions On Vape Mods Wholesale
These three sort out almost every order, and not one of them is about looks.
Ask us those three before you commit and we can usually talk you out of a wrong order. That is the plain difference between buying vape mods wholesale and buying liquid, where one bottle is much like another and the only real question is strength.
Our minimum order is £100 across the basket and delivery stops costing £7.99 at £200. A mod is not a cheap line, so two or three of them clear the first figure on their own.
A shop new to box mods wholesale usually starts with one cheap unit, one mid priced kit and nothing above a hundred watts. That is three lines and it will cover most of a counter. The Innokin CoolFire Z50 is the middle rung of that three.
Check the price line before you work out a margin. Some of our mod listings do not say whether the figure includes VAT, so the number you see may not be the number you pay. Ask us rather than guessing, because on a forty pound item the difference is real money.
Nobody Explains What TC Stands For
Mod listings are full of short letters and nobody writes out what they mean. TC is the worst one.
TC is temperature control. Instead of setting the power, you set how hot the coil is allowed to get, and the mod backs off before it burns. We checked the biggest UK guides on mods. One of them has a whole section on temperature control and never once writes out the two letters. So a shop assistant reading our listing has no way in.
A customer may also ask about two others. Bypass sends the raw battery power through with no smoothing, which some people prefer. Memory saves a setting so a customer swapping between two tanks does not have to redial it every time.
Here is the honest part. Temperature control only works with certain coil metals, and most people who own a mod never turn it on. It is a selling point on a spec sheet more than a thing in daily use. Do not build a sale on it.
What does matter at the counter is the fire button and the screen. If a customer can read the wattage and change it with two presses, they will keep the mod. If the menu takes a manual, it comes back.
Built In Or Loose Batteries
Some mods have the battery sealed inside and charge from a cable. Others take loose cells the customer buys and swaps. That one choice decides a lot.
Now a problem on our side. Five of our six loose cell lines are at zero stock while around eighteen chargers sit in stock. So we can sell you a mod that needs cells, and the charger for them, and not the cells. Ask before you build an order around them. Our Efest IMR 18650 Batteries page is the one to watch, and it explains the cell side properly.
And one line on our own site to ignore. The Voopoo Drag M100S listing says it takes an 18750 cell. No such battery exists. It takes an 18650 like the rest of them, and the title has a typing mistake in it.
Two Collections Hold Different Mods
We have two mod pages and they do not hold the same stock. The fault is ours and it still lands on you, so here it is in writing.
The main mods page is where almost all the search traffic lands. The Wholesale Box Mods page is much quieter, and some stock only appears there. The Eleaf iStick 30W is one of them. Filter our mods from the main page and you will not see it.
So open both before you decide you have seen the range, or ring us and ask for the whole list. We are merging them, and until that is done two pages is the honest answer.
A Vape Mods Bulk Order By Power
Split a mod order by power, not by brand. The power band tells you which customer walks in for it, and brands do not.
Most of the demand sits low. The person leaving disposables wants something simple around 30 watts that does not need explaining. The person already refilling wants 50 to 100 watts, a tank they chose and a bit of control. Above that you are selling to a hobbyist, and there are far fewer of them than the shelf suggests.
So a sensible vape mods bulk sheet leans on the first two bands and keeps one high powered line for the person who asks by name. Going deep on 200 watt mods is the error we watch shops make most, because the big numbers look like the serious stock and they shift slowest.
There is no trade pack to hide behind here either. A box mod bulk order is counted one unit at a time, so every single thing you order is a decision you made rather than a case size somebody else chose for you.
Spread a box mod bulk order across price too. Something near £15, something near £40, nothing else to begin with. A vape mods bulk order of two prices and three power bands covers nearly everybody, and the GeekVape Aegis Legend at £39.99 is a fair middle marker to build around.
Ten Answers Before A First Mod Order
1. What is a box mod in one line?
A refillable battery box with a screen, a fire button and a screw thread for a tank.
2. Does a box mod come with a tank?
Only if the title says kit. If it says mod, it is the box on its own.
3. How much power does a customer actually need?
Around 5 to 40 watts for a tight tank, 50 or more for an airy one. The tank decides, not the mod.
4. Are box mods sold in trade packs?
No. Every mod we hold is a single unit, so there is no box of five or ten on this line and a box mod bulk order is counted one at a time.
5. What does TC mean on a listing?
Temperature control. It caps how hot the coil gets. Few owners ever use it.
6. Are any of your mods the unregulated kind?
No. Every box mod we list has a safety chip inside it.
7. Can I buy the loose cells from you too?
Usually not at the moment. Five of our six cell lines are at zero while the chargers are in stock. Ask per order.
8. What is the minimum on box mod wholesale orders?
£100 on the order, with delivery free once you pass £200. Two or three mods clear that first figure, and the same minimum covers vape mods wholesale of any kind.
9. Why do two of your pages show different mods?
We have two collections and some stock sits in only one of them. Check both until we merge them.
10. Is a pod mod the same thing?
No. A pod mod takes a clip-in refillable pod, runs at lower power and needs no tank.
