Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus Pod Kit: Model Introduction
Within Joyetech's EXCEED family, the Joyetech Exceed Grip Plus Pod Kit is the adjustable-power model with a removable battery and refillable cartridge. It differs from the Grip Pro and original EXCEED Grip.
Smart Mode and the Colour Screen
Smart mode identifies the fitted coil and chooses a suitable output. The interface also allows theme-colour changes and shows charging progress.
Smart detection does not override the coil's printed wattage limits. The screen setting is useful for checking an installed coil without treating the device maximum as a recommended setting.
Why the EZ Cartridge Uses Side Airflow
Joyetech designed the EZ cartridge with air entering from the side. The design aims to reduce leakage, not eliminate it. Adjusting its airflow changes the draw.
The cartridge slides sideways into the frame. Its coil can be changed without discarding a sound cartridge. A replacement coil is not a complete kit. On a damaged cartridge, replacing only the head may not resolve leaks or contact problems.
Grip Plus Original Colours
Five finishes are documented by Joyetech for the EXCEED Grip Plus:

These are manufacturer finishes, not confirmed No1 stock. The Grip Pro has different colours. Changing the screen theme does not change the device's outer finish; those are two separate choices.
Choosing Between the Two EZ Coils
Joyetech supplies two separate resistance options in its standard Plus configuration. The EZ 0.4Ω coil is rated 20–32W for a more open draw. The EZ 1.2Ω coil is rated 7–13W for mouth-to-lung use, where vapour is drawn into the mouth first. EX coils from the older Standard Cartridge do not fit EZ pods.
With the 1.2Ω option, a bottled 50VG/50PG liquid is a sensible consistency to consider. No1 lists Fresh Vape Co nic salts in 10ml, 50/50 format. This describes liquid format, not a recommended nicotine dose. Check the 0.4Ω setup separately.

Joyetech lists an EZ cartridge, both EZ coils, 510 drip tip, USB-C cable and paperwork. No1's sealed box is unverified.
Managing the Removable Battery
The 18650 sits behind a magnetic panel. Check polarity and wrap condition; do not use damaged cells. The 18650 battery selection can help identify available sizes, but cell authenticity, discharge rating and suitability need checking individually.
Battery life varies with the cell selected and output used. USB-C charging cannot compensate for an unsuitable cell.
Grip Plus Cartridge Fit and Refilling
Joyetech confirms EZ cartridge fit across the original Grip, Grip Pro and Grip Plus. EZ coils fit EZ pods; the separate Standard Cartridge uses EX coils.
For the EZ pod, lift the side silicone plug, fill slowly away from the airflow channel and wait two to three minutes for fresh cotton to soak. A separate EZ RBA coil exists, but is an optional part rather than standard box equipment.

Questions About Plus Features
Is a standard 510 tank included with the device?
No. Joyetech lists a 510 drip tip for the supplied cartridge, not a separate 510 tank or tank adaptor.
Can I use the EZ RBA head straight from the box?
No. Joyetech describes the EZ RBA as optional. It is not one of the two standard EZ coils supplied.
Does the Plus have the original Grip's dry-burn protection feature?
Joyetech documents DBP for particular original EXCEED Grip coils and pods, but does not confirm that feature for this Plus configuration. Do not assume it applies.
Will a pod still work if I change from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω?
Yes, both original EZ coil resistances fit the EZ cartridge. Adjust the wattage to the newly fitted coil's own rating before use.
