A First Look at the SMOK Novo Pod Kit
The original SMOK Novo Pod Kit combines a rechargeable device with refillable cartridges that can be replaced when their built-in coils wear out. This early Novo has inhale activation without a screen or power settings. It is not the Novo X or Novo 2.
The Whole Pod Is the Replacement Part
Each original Novo cartridge holds e-liquid and contains its own heating coil. When the coil is worn, the complete cartridge is changed. There is no loose replacement coil.
The original pod uses a small filling slot under a soft stopper. Open the stopper, fill and close it firmly, avoiding the centre air passage. SMOK's original product page names a 1.5Ω Novo pod; other sellers describe additional original-series resistances. Match the exact cartridge, not just the name “Novo”.
The device and matching replacement pods are separate trade items. A shop should check which original cartridge is available before listing the kit, because newer Novo-labelled accessories may belong to another generation. The No1 catalogue currently shows a Novo 2 pod listing, but that name alone does not prove it is the correct spare for this original kit.
SMOK Novo Colours
SMOK's original catalogue shows eight Cobra-pattern colour choices. The commonly listed finishes are Black, Red, White, Rainbow, Pink, Royal Blue, Blue and Green; some UK sellers add “Prism” or “Cobra” to the names.
No1 has a colour selector, but its readable page does not confirm names or quantities. Manufacturer colours should not be treated as confirmed No1 stock.
The Light and Draw Sensor
The device starts when someone inhales through its mouthpiece. It has no fire button, wattage adjustment buttons or screen. The LED provides the operating information instead.
SMOK's instructions identify a white light during a draw and a 15-flash low-battery warning when voltage falls below 3.3V. Charging takes place through Micro-USB, not USB-C. Keep the charging connection clean and use the charging method described in the manual. These signals help with basic fault checks.
The SMOK Novo X Pod Kit is a different device with a display and adjustable power. Its cartridges are not assumed compatible.

Filling Liquid and Looking After the Pod
This is an empty, refillable system rather than a prefilled flavour kit. Its higher-resistance cartridge is used for mouth-to-lung draws. Check a 50VG/50PG bottled liquid rather than assuming high-VG blends suit this small pod.
No1 lists IVG 10ml Nic Salt with a 50/50 blend for refillable MTL devices. It is a liquid-format example, not a blanket nicotine-strength recommendation.
Refill before the pod runs dry, let a fresh fill soak, and wipe moisture from the contacts. If the taste stays burnt despite adequate liquid, replace the complete pod instead of trying to remove its built-in coil.
What Comes in the Original Kit?
SMOK's EU manual lists one device, two empty 2ml Novo pods, one USB cable and one user manual. No nicotine liquid is included. No1's actual carton has not been inspected.
For UK nicotine-vape supply, pod capacity must remain within 2ml, with applicable notification, labelling and age restrictions. This is an 18+ product. The actual batch and trade outer-box quantity still require confirmation.

Questions About the Original Novo
What do four white flashes mean?
SMOK's manual says the indicator flashes four times when the device does not detect a pod. Check the cartridge seating and wipe moisture from the contacts.
How do I know when charging is finished?
The indicator is red while charging and switches off when complete, according to SMOK.
Can I leave a filled pod unused for a long time?
SMOK advises emptying the pod for extended storage and avoiding heat and moisture.
Can I fit a standard vape tank?
No. This device has a socket for its original Novo pod, not a listed 510 tank connection. Separate screw-on vape tanks are not appropriate replacement parts.
