SMOK RPM 5 Pod Kit: About This Model
Within SMOK's RPM family, the SMOK RPM 5 Pod Kit is the refillable pod mod with a built-in rechargeable battery and changeable coil heads. It is not the RPM 5 Pro, which takes a separate 18650 battery, or an older RPM40 kit.
The SMOK pod kit catalogue includes several different designs. Their shared brand name does not make their pods or coils interchangeable.
How the Sliding Pod Works
The RPM 5 has two different sliding parts: the top lid opens the filling port, while a separate catch holds the coil beneath the cartridge.

Remove the pod and slide open its top lid.

Fill through the exposed opening, keeping liquid out of the central air path, then close the lid.

After fitting a new coil, allow the wick to absorb the liquid before using the device.
The pod has a child-resistant design, but that does not mean the device is childproof or leakproof. Keep it away from children.
RPM 5 Screen Messages
Rather than relying on flashing lights, the RPM 5 vape kit uses a colour TFT screen for wattage, battery information and fault messages. SMOK's manual distinguishes a locked firing button from locked wattage adjustment, which is useful when the device seems unresponsive.

Matching RPM 3 Coil Ratings
The correct family is SMOK RPM 3 mesh, not standard RPM, RPM 2 or LP2. SMOK rates the 0.15Ω coil at 40–80W and the 0.23Ω coil at 20–45W. These ranges matter more than the device's headline 80W maximum. Both use replaceable coil heads rather than sealed-coil cartridges.
No1 lists RPM 3 options in its SMOK coil collection. Check the resistance when selecting replacement stock; a compatible coil family is not the same thing as a compatible pod.
E-Liquid and Airflow
Both original RPM 3 options are low-resistance, direct-to-lung coils. SMOK's manual suggests a 30PG/70VG liquid. No1 lists Seriously Soda shortfill as a 70VG/30PG format for sub-ohm devices. This identifies a liquid type, not a recommended nicotine dose.
The rear airflow slider changes the draw without changing watts. Strong 50/50 nicotine salts used in low-power mouth-to-lung pods should not be treated as the default pairing for this setup.
SMOK RPM 5 Specifications
Power and interface: built-in 2000mAh battery, adjustable 5–80W output, button activation, 0.96-inch colour TFT and USB-C charging. SMOK lists charging current up to 1.4A.
Physical details: 122.5 × 29.5 × 31.2mm and approximately 122.7g in the manufacturer's manual. The removable pod has a sliding top fill and locking coil mechanism. There is no separate battery to install in the standard RPM 5.
Original RPM 5 Colours
Leather-look finishes: Black Leather, Grey Leather, Brown Leather and Beige White Leather.
Other finishes: Black, White, Matte Gun Metal and Prism Rainbow. These are original catalogue colourways; the current No1 variant selection and stock could not be confirmed.
Check the UK Pod Version
SMOK's international manual shows a 6.5ml cartridge. UK retailers also describe a 2ml RPM 5 version. No1 separately lists a 4.5ml RPM 5 replacement pod, which must not be described as a verified UK-compliant 2ml accessory. A 2ml pod and the relevant UK notification and labelling should be checked against the physical batch before resale.

For an SMOK RPM 5 wholesale enquiry, request confirmation of the 2ml cartridge, exact coil pair, colour, UK paperwork and outer-case quantity. SMOK's standard international box contains a device, pod with 0.15Ω coil installed, spare 0.23Ω coil, USB-C cable and manual; No1's sealed UK contents have not been inspected. Control and Cartridge Questions
Can I reset the puff counter on the RPM 5?
Yes. SMOK's manual describes pressing the fire and down buttons together to open the clear-puff option. Follow the on-screen selection and confirmation steps.
Does locking wattage also disable the fire button?
No. The manual describes separate wattage-adjustment and firing locks. Check the displayed lock message to identify which control is disabled.
Do RPM 5 and Nord 5 use the same mesh coil?
Both are listed for RPM 3 coils, but that does not mean their refillable pods are interchangeable. Match the cartridge to the device model.
Why is the RPM 5 replacement pod size important in the UK?
The device has both international and UK cartridge versions. A listing for a larger pod does not establish that it meets the UK's 2ml limit for nicotine-vaping products.
