Big Puff Vapes: Why 30K Is Not Three Times 10K

Walk down the pod kit aisle and the numbers do most of the shouting. 6,000. 10,000. 30,000. 50,000.

Those numbers are not lying to you. But they are not comparable with each other either, and that catches people out.

What Big Puff Vapes Are Now

A big puff vape is a vape you charge, with a prefilled pod and extra liquid. You keep the device. When the liquid runs out you buy new pods or refills, not a new vape.

They took over after June 2025, when single-use vapes stopped being legal to sell in the UK. The old 600-puff bars went, and these filled the gap. The draw feels much the same: you breathe in, it fires, there is no button. What changed is that the battery stays with you and the liquid is the part you replace.

Two Ways A Big Puff Vape Holds Its Liquid

Not every big puff vape is built the same way. There are two main designs.

The bottle type gives far more puffs, because a 10ml bottle holds five times what a 2ml pod does. The four-pod type, like the Lost Mary 4-in-1, suits people who like switching flavour through the day.

UK sellers describe both designs as the two main ways big puff kits are built.

Why The Puff Numbers Do Not Match Up

Here is the part nobody puts on a product page.

A puff count is not a measurement of how much liquid you get. It is the maker's estimate of how many puffs that liquid gives, usually based on short, even puffs. Different brands assume different puffs. So two big puff vapes with the same liquid can carry very different numbers on the box.

The Same 12ml Can Be 6,000 Or 15,000 Puffs

These are all kits we stock, all with 12ml of liquid inside.

Same liquid. Two and a half times the claimed puffs.

Widen it out and the gap grows. The Pyne Pod Click S 30K claims 1,667 puffs per millilitre, against 500 for the Hayati Pro Max+ 6000. That is more than three times the difference, on the same shelf.

It works the other way too. One UK review lists the Vaporesso Dojo Blast 30K with a 2ml pod and an 8ml refill, so 10ml per set, for a 30,000-puff claim. That is less liquid than many 10K kits.

None of these brands is cheating. They are measuring differently, and nobody checks them against each other. So a 30K is not three times a 10K. It might hold more liquid, the same, or even less.

Are Big Vapes Still Legal In The UK?

Yes, and how they manage it is worth knowing.

UK law caps a nicotine pod at 2ml and a nicotine refill bottle at 10ml, with 20mg per ml the top strength. [documented: gov.uk, Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016]

A 30,000-puff kit does not break that. It splits the liquid up: a 2ml pod fed by a 10ml bottle, and on bigger kits a second pod and bottle. Every part stays inside the limit, so the whole thing is legal. The Pyne Pod Click 50K takes it furthest, with three pods and three bottles in one device.

The other half is the ban. A vape only counts as reusable if it ticks all of these:

How To Check A Kit Is Registered

Every legal nicotine vape sold here must be notified to the MHRA before it goes on sale. Many packs carry a QR code that links to that record.

Scan it. If there is no code, or it does not lead anywhere official, check further before buying. That is worth thirty seconds if the seller is unfamiliar.

Big Vape Sizes From 10K To 50K

The tiers are not evenly spaced, and each one suits a different kind of use.

10K Vapes

Usually 12ml, in one 2ml pod and one 10ml bottle. The devices are small enough to pocket, the price per kit is low, and you are not stuck with one flavour for long. If you are coming off 600-puff bars, this is the easy place to start. Our 10K pod kits show what we hold.

15K And 20K Vapes

Often the same 12ml, with a higher claimed count. This is where the puffs-per-ml gap shows most. A 15K and a 10K may hold exactly the same liquid, so check the millilitres before assuming you get half as much again.

30K Vapes And Above

Many 30K kits run two pods and two bottles, and several let you switch between two flavours. But as the Dojo Blast example shows, not all of them hold more liquid. They are chunkier to carry and cost more up front. Our 30K kits are the tier, and the 50K kits above them run three pods.

How Long Does Each Size Last?

Honestly, it depends on the person, and sellers do not agree. One UK seller says most vapers get through 2ml to 4ml a day. At that rate a 12ml kit lasts 3 to 6 days. Another puts a 12ml, 6,000-puff kit at 7 to 10 days for a moderate vaper.

The easiest way to guess is from millilitres. If someone knows how many days a 12ml kit lasts them, a 24ml kit will last about twice as long, whatever the puff number says.

Millilitres Matter More Than Puffs

If you take one thing from this, take that. Millilitres are measured. Puffs are estimated. A bottle either holds 12ml or it does not.

So when you compare two big puff vapes, find the ml figure. It is usually there, just lower down the page than the puff number.

One more thing people get wrong. A higher puff count does not mean a bigger battery. The kits we have checked run from about 600mAh to 1,000mAh whatever the number on the box. The battery powers the coil and the bottle carries the liquid, so you still charge it often.

Why Millilitres Now Cost Money

From 1 October 2026 the new vape tax adds £2.20 for every 10ml of liquid. It is charged on millilitres, not puffs. That turns the gap in the first chart into real money.

Duty only, before VAT. With 20% VAT, a 12ml kit carries £3.17 and an 18ml kit £4.75.

All four pay duty on their liquid. But kits that claim more puffs from the same millilitres end up with less duty per claimed puff. The tax does not care how many puffs you get. The October vape tax guide covers how it works across every format.

Buying Big Puff Vapes Wholesale Or In Bulk

Most big puff vapes reach shops in a box of 5 kits, all one flavour. That shapes how a trade order works.

For a first big puff vapes bulk order, a mix of 10K kits in a few flavours is the lower-risk start. The bigger 30K and 50K kits cost more per box and suit shops whose customers already ask for them.
